This is the Kinsey scale. 0. Exclusively heterosexual with no homosexual 1. Predominantly heterosexual, only incidental homosexual 2. Predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual 3. Equally heterosexual and homosexual 4. Predominantly homosexual but more than incidentally heterosexual 5. Predominantly homosexual, but incidentally heterosexual 6. Exclusively homosexual. What is wrong with it? It assumes all people to be either heterosexual or homosexual or some how partway each. The way most people see it is that if you fall in the middle someplace you are either on the way to becoming gay (if straight at first) or vice versa. Then we have the people who think those in the middle are just confused.
